8 PM Doors "I'm a child of the '80s, so maybe that's the main reason I fall for this kind of music," exclaims Oliver Wand, in an interview with Regen Magazine. As of 2008, his band has made the jump from theindependents (Infacted Records - home to Lights of Euphoria and others) to Major Records, placing him in the same space as such illustrious acts as Ladytron and Gary Numan.
Having already traveled across Europe as the opening act on a sold out And One tour, Obscenity Trial looks to continue making their mark on U.S. soil. Providing that perfect dose of electropop, Obscenity Trial delivers music with widespread appeal. A show not to be missed.
After this, Robert and Norm released "Evolution" in 2006. The album was produced by Steve Laskarides from Access Zero. Zazie, an artist from Germany, created the art work. After the release of the album, Norm was spending a lot of time traveling out of town, working for various companies. Robert was also busy teaching music and martial arts. At this point, Robert and Norm decided to end D:konstruct due to busy work schedules. D:konstruct will release their new album "Stars Burning Out" in early 2010. The new D:K sound is moving in the direction of bands like The Killers, White Lies, and Depeche Mode. The name stands for a few things: D for digital and Konstruct standing for construction. All of D:konstruct's songs were composed using the latest software and technology in electronic music featuring powerful lyrics, hard hitting rhythms, obscure samples, and emotional waves of sound. The name more importantly stands for stripping oneself of everything negative, then rebuilding the self evolving as a human, and finally unleashing a person's ultimate potential. Faith and the Muse Based in Los Angeles, Faith And The Muse came together in 1993 with the intention of taking music to new extremes; both being established veterans in Underground music. William Faith played with such cult icons as Christian Death and Shadow Project; Monica Richards, who got her start in music fronting Washington harDCore punk bands in the early 1980’s, made a name for herself in the post-punk outfit, Strange Boutique. With the release of five albums and one double CD live/remix album, along with extensive touring throughout the U.S. and Europe over the last fifteen years, the band has managed to gain the attention of a vast assortment of music fans, owing to their constantly evolving sound: undefineable but unmistakeable. Amidst a diverse musical background ranging from Dark Alternative Rock and Electronica to World Music & Neo-Classical, to Jazz, Avant Garde and Folk, Faith And The Muse provide one of the rarest experiences in art, theater and music. As artists and songwriters, William Faith and Monica Richards have created their own unique universe by allowing no boundaries to the music they write, reaching across historical genre and cultural style. From personal acoustic pieces and traditional/tribal folk melodies to grand orchestral production and dark rock epics, this diverse combination of simplicity and complexity places Faith And The Muse in their own musical category. While the music is created by Faith and Richards alone, Faith And The Muse as a live entity includes additional musicians assisting in the expression of the music. Fans never know what to expect from Faith And The Muse live; their performances change from tour to tour, featuring at times theatrical and orchestral instrumentation, or quiet intimate acoustic events, and other times, straight-up hard rocking shows. On tour in support of their newest CD “ankoku butoh” (which has spent 4 weeks at #1 in the DAC - German Alternative Charts) this will be Detroits opportunity to witness this unique act. Assemblage 23 On tour in support of the new CD "Compass" an album demands a closer look. It is not just his sixth studio album – "Compass" is a lot more than that. This album is the uncompromising presentation of Tom Shear's biggest strength, the composition of dreamingly beautiful ballads, relentlessly catchy tunes and club hits. He is a real master of his trade, and on this newest work, he has achieved the feat of sticking to the sound all ASSEMBLAGE 23 fans love and hope for, while still creating a powerful and exiting new vibe. Listening to this album and discovering "Compass" in its whole glory is pure fun; it fascinates and electrifies.
All this combined makes sure that "Compass" is not just a treat for Shear's big fan base but will also excite all those who have not yet discovered the fascination of ASSEMBLAGE 23. The single "Spark" has already proven a strong and promising harbinger – but who would have thought that Tom Shear might surpass this benchmark in such a glorious way. For all those who love straightforward but also sophisticated and substantial electronic music, this album is not to be missed, while the live show will certainly not dissapoint.
